INdY tells us that the BBC had a story on Mariah Carey's contract with EMI. Mariah has been bought out of her contract for £19M allegedly because of the poor performance of her album Glitter and her unsuccessful movie last year.

A Music Week correspondent talked about this and said that huge artists will always be in demand and Mariah will probably be looking at the opportunities ahead of her.

He also mentioned that huge artists are always sought after by record companies which will pay out big deals as long as the artists deliver the goods. He said, I quote, 'everyone wanted to sign George Michael recently.'
