According to ContactMusic, Simon Napier-Bell, George's ex-manager said:
"George called a press conference with 100 journalists to tell them he didn't like being in the public eye. He's an addict.
"He's addicted to the attention and hates the intrusion it causes - like any addict. It's like hating the result of taking heroin and intending never to take it again - he just can't resist going back and getting attention again.
"But to announce to 100 people that you are no longer going to be in the public eye sounds to me like a week's work in the public eye."

According to ContactMusic, Elton has tried to apologize regarding his recent comments about George Michael:
"I tried to call George at Christmas to sort things out, but he wouldn't come to the phone. I spoke to Kenny Goss (Michael's partner) but he couldn't persuade George to talk to me. It's a shame.
"Obviously I struck a nerve and he took it all the wrong way. I would like to resolve it. I've been in the place where George is at the moment and I know you need someone to reach out and tell you the truth. If someone had said that about me in 1985 I'd have reacted the same way.
"But I'm genuinely concerned. If something happens I want to be there to support him. He's annoyed at me and I know that."
GMFREEEK also tells us that Little Britain will replay the episode with George Michael on March 11, 2005.
From PRNewswire:
"For Dallas native Kenny Goss, the burgeoning art scene in the Texas city was lacking one thing -- a contemporary art gallery reflecting the feel and program of leading galleries in London, Paris and New York, with exhibitions of 20th and 21st century contemporary painting and photography. Thus was born Goss Gallery (http://www.gossgallery.com ), scheduled for a May 2005 opening at the corner of Cedar Springs and Fairmount in Dallas' thriving Uptown neighborhood. A special book shop with rotating selections of 'essential' must-have art books as well as an established group of young, international artists will further set this gallery apart from any art space the city has seen."
