Kathy Griffin on George Michael
Comedian Kathy Griffin has some nice things to say about
George Michael in the Dallas
Voice:
Did you know George Michael splits his time between Dallas
and London?
Oh, that’s right. He lives there with “his Kenny.”
Wow, you actually know who Kenny Goss is.
Of course. Hey, I watch Oprah. That’s where I get all my news.
Is George Michael an A-lister?
George is a tough call. Of course, he’s an A-lister. But he’s behaved
in a way … He’s one of those people who you’d expect to be in my act.
But I feel like he’s owned it. His last statement about getting busted
with drugs was like, “It’s my own stupidity again.”
It’s hard to make fun of somebody like that. The people I make fun of
are the high and mighty celebrities who don’t admit that their behavior
is ridiculous. Like Paltrow not admitting that she gave her kids those
horrible names. That’s why she’s in the act and George Michael isn’t.
"An Easier Affair" on iTunes
Spain
Ivan tells us that the new single was available for
purchase on Wednesday at iTunes Spain, but it has been removed. It was
never promoted on the weekly schedule or on the front page, but both tracks,
not just the title track could be downloaded, contrary to what's happening
at the iTunes UK store.

The
End of Top of the Pops
The
BBC dropped Top of the Pops after 42 years, and this article has some
of the Wham! history of George's first appearance on Top of the Pops:
In his memoir, Black Vinyl, White Powder, Wham!’s
manager, Simon Napier-Bell, recalls seeing Wham! on television for the
first time: “Top Of The Pops was a programme on which the director
never directed the artist,” he wrote. “He left them to perform as they
wished. When Wham! came on to do Young Guns, they completely changed the
way the programme looked. It was as if they’d rehearsed with the TV crew
for days.” In fact, Wham! was merely a product of the programme on which
they were about to appear. Canny beyond their 19 years, the pair had indeed
spent all night rehearsing in George Michael’s mum’s front room, aware
of just how one good Top Of The Pops performance could make a
career.

Happy 9th Birthday, Yours Only George!
Wow! Can you believe it? Yours Only George has been serving
the George Michael Internet community for nine years now!
It's funny ... Back in the 1990s, Shannon and I were sitting
at our grandmother's kitchen table trying to think of a name for our new
fan club. We were thinking we could do something with the letters of George
Michael's most famous nickname, Yog. Well, you know what? There's not
much you can do with the letters "Y," "O," and "G."
Somehow, after a lot of brainstorming, I came up with "Yours
Only George" to represent our dedication to George Michael. We were
yours only, George! LOL! Yeah, it doesn't quite translate for other languages,
but at that time we had never heard of the Internet and never thought
Yours Only George would have a world-wide readership.
This little gateway to the world was going to be our mechanism
to meet George Michael, we concluded. Only two shy, honor-roll girls with
a little too much brain power would put their hearts into a fan club instead
of sitting outside of George's house waiting for him to come home.
Although that dream is gone now, Yours Only George is still
alive because of contributions from people like you! This site would not
exist without all the fans who send in news and links so that everyone
else is informed. You are all very much appreciated! Also, as always,
this site would not exist without Shannon's first fan club in 1986 and
her many years of work. And, last but not least, thanks to George Michael
for reading and for giving us news to report (although I really hate having
to post some of these things!)
