George Michael Gets On His Knees To Do Good | |
George Michael's potting punishment |
How's
this for high concept: Ruthless corporate attorney turns good guy after
seeing visions of '80s pop star George Michael. That's the premise for
"Eli Stone," an ABC dramedy starring Jonny Lee Miller.
Stone's corporate law firm has a "screw the little guy" motto.
And Miller's Stone is among the firm's best sharks, until he has flashbacks
and hallucinations, including Michael as a holy intercessor. As the visions
persist, Stone learns he has an inoperable brain aneurysm and begins redefining
his career. "It's quite funny, but it does tackle some real social
issues," says Miller, best known for 1996's "Trainspotting."
Co-producer Marc Guggenheim says Michael "really responded to the
concept. He's a real television aficionado. And his songs reflect the
themes of the show."
The Armani suit worn on tour by George Michael, auctioned for the Terrence Higgins Trust, brought in £15,400.
Michael to Play Trainspotting Star's Dream Angel
George Michael has signed on to play Jonny Lee Miller's guardian angel in a new U.S. TV drama.
The pop superstar will tweak the conscience of the actor's ruthless attorney-turned-good guy in new show Eli Stone.
Michael will appear in dream sequences, aimed at inspiring Miller's character to do good deeds, in the show.
A spokesman for the show, which will debut in America later this year, says, "George really responded to the concept... and his songs reflect the themes of the show."
Concert-going Ulster smokers are fuming about the province's largest indoor venue as it's literally leaving them out in the cold!
Dozens of fans attending last weekend's gig by George Michael were shocked to be told that if they nipped out for a ciggie at the interval they would miss the rest of the show.
The Armani suit worn on tour by George Michael that is being auctioned for the Terrence Higgins Trust is currently at £12,655 with 16 hours left for bidding.
Klair tells us that the Channel 4 show, which aired live on the night of the reopening of the new Wembley Stadium, is going to be repeated this Sunday, August 12th at 11.40, according to georgemichael.com.

Lorraine sends us By George, What a Show!

The Odyssey Arena was packed with thirty and fortysomethings, who danced the night away in the company of the man with the mightiest voice in pop.

Imagining Lennon’s Brotherhood of Man:
There are so many items in each edition of the The Wall Street Journal that it’s usually the trademark sketches that catch my eye and determine what actually make me read a story to its end.
This week John Lennon made me look twice. What’s he doing on the front page of the purportedly conservative newspaper?
John Lennon's "Imagine" Piano is Unveiled for Display at Northpark Center:
George Michael (who bought the piano in 2000 for $2.1 million) and Kenny Goss have decided to send the piano on a Piano Peace Project tour, where the piano will be photographed in cities across the U.S. and the world where horrific acts of violence have taken place. It's kind of like when you steal a gnome from your parent's garden and take it on vacation with you, and then send them pictures of the gnome in front of national monuments.
The Armani suit worn on tour by George Michael that is being auctioned for the Terrence Higgins Trust is currently at £12,400.00 with more than seven days left for bidding.
Why Piano Owned By John Lennon Is Touring America:
The piano on which John Lennon composed "Imagine," his famous ode to peace and healing, is on a yearlong magical mystery tour of the U.S. with a macabre twist.
The nutmeg-colored Steinway upright, believed to have been in Mr. Lennon's country home in Ascot, England, is crisscrossing the country to show up at some of the nation's most horrific sites of violence, death and destruction.
