Will the Real Blue-Eyed Soul Artists Please Stand Up?
Will the
Real Blue-Eyed Soul Artists Please Stand Up?
Michael is a classic, a true talent who's never compromised his artistry
for the sake of mass appeal. From his early blockbusters with Wham!, like
"I'm Your Man," "Careless Whisper," and "Everything
She Wants," to his early solo hits, like "A Different Corner,"
"Freedom '90," and "Too Funky," to his later masterpieces,
like "Older," "Fastlove," and "Flawless (Go to
the City)," George Michael has always had something meaningful to
say with his music, something lasting and memorable, something worthy
of being considered true blue-eyed soul.

Madison Square Garden Concert?
Imagine that:
In related news, Mr. Michael and Mr. Goss are moving their hallowed
John Lennon piano back to their Goss-Michael Foundation art gallery for
next Wednesday's preview party for the Palm Night benefiting the Family
Place. In 2000, Mr. Michael paid $2.1 million for the upright Steinway
on which the ex-Beatle composed "Imagine."
Kenny's brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Joyce Goss, are co-chairing
the annual benefit at the Palm steakhouse with Robin and Steve Ladik.
They are letting Palm Night sponsors get a view of the Lennon Steinway
at Little Palm, an auction preview party.
Among the items being auctioned Oct. 18 at the Palm Night is a trip
by private jet to New York plus six tickets and
backstage passes for Mr. Michael's 25 Live show at Madison Square Garden.

Eli Stone
George Michael Gets Stoned for ABC:
The network has inked a deal with the '80s pop icon turned courtroom
staple to appear in two additional episodes of its buzzworthy midseason
entry Eli Stone. The spiritually-tinged legal drama revolves around an
attorney (played by Jonny Lee Miller) who, after a string of bizarre hallucinations,
thinks he might be a prophet. In the pilot, Eli keeps hearing the sound
of "Faith" in his head, and at one point has a vision of George
Michael performing the song in his office. For his return engagement,
GM will show off more than just his singing chops.
"Having George and his music in the pilot was great because it really
set the tone for the entire show," says executive producer Marc Guggenheim,
who cocreated Eli with Greg Berlanti. "But if there's anything better,
it's having him in the series for two episodes singing and acting. He's
such a talented and smart guy and amazingly collaborative."
Eli's guardian angel will pop up again in the show's eighth and ninth
episodes.
George Michael: I Stayed in the
Closet to Protect my Mum
George Michael: I Stayed in the Closet to Protect my Mum:
George Michael kept his homosexuality a secret because he didn't want
his mum to worry about Aids.
'Every day would have been a nightmare for her thinking what I might have
been subjected to,' says George, 44.
It was only after his mother Lesley died in 1997 that the Careless Whisper
star started to be more open about his sexuality.
