He is “still” the king!

Great article / interview and response as to George’s amazing accomplishments. As I sit here at my office “plugged in” to George, I have to add a personal note. And I’m sure there are millions of admirers who feel the same way about George’s music. Throughout all the stresses of life, it has been George’s music that has kept my heart and soul sane when I needed santity, calm when my soul needed soothing, and energized when my heart needed to sing and dance. Thank you, again, George for continuing to share your gifts, and Melanie, for offering this venue. However, I will try to restrain myself from too many further comments! (Looking forward to the concerts in San Jose & Boston!)

Because of my passion for music…”George Michael” has never been gone from my repertoire. You cannot find a better singer or songwriter of his caliber. I never felt abandoned because if I couldn’t find his music here I would go to “Amazon.UK” and acquire it there. If you admire and appreciate someone for who they are and what they have done, you will find a way. I appreciate and admire the fact that he feels appreciative and honored enough to share his feelings with his fans and people that admirer him not only in America but also across the world. That only shows the kind of person and talent that I have become to have so much admiration for over the years. I would suggest that anyone who is a “fan” not only purchase his music but “LISTEN! to how it has evolved over the years. You can only hear some of the best, diverse, beautiful and stunning music ever written and performed by an enormously talented individual who has survived personal and public tragedies throughout his career. I will always admire him for who his is and can only hope that he never stops creating and doing what he does best. 😆

I dont no about other places In the USA, but around here they have never stopped playing George Michael songs on the radio.
There are alot of times I am out shopping with my grandson and I hear George come on the radio, lol before I can say anything he says yes grandma I no that is George on the speaker. I have been waiting a long time and finally my dream is comming true I am going to Las Vegas to see George Michael live in concert.
See George I have faith too and it is going to happen, I am going to get to see you at least once in my life.
Thanks for all the wonderful music you have given us and that music is the only thing I have on my CD player in the car I llisten to it all the time and you get me through some really rough days. Thank You and God Bless you!

Great article!!! I hope it gives people an indication how extremely geocentric the US music scene has been since the early 90s. It is nice that it has finally been acknowledged that the reason George MIchael did not have much of a career in the US in the 90s is NOT because his music took a slide (in my opinion he only truly blossomed in the 90s) but because the average-joe US music listener had no idea George Michael was making music in the 90s. Whenever I told people George Michael is huge overseas, people responded saying crap like “yeah, we’ve heard they still watch Baywatch in Europe too!!”. A clear indication of how the average joe US listener can get brainwashed into believing that if is something is not shaved in their face by the US media, odds are, it doesn’t exist and the the rest of the world is on a perpetual nostalgia trip.

Anyway, looking forward to see George in Boston (for the third time) in July.

It is always a pleasure to hear from this man as he is so articulate and frank in his interviews. I look forward to seeing him twice this summer (as if that were enough!) and hope his tour in America warms his heart and renews his faith in his fanbase over here. George Michael is a superb pop song craftsman who not only knows his way around the studio, but has the pipes to go along with his impeccably produced songs. For these reasons and many more, it’s good to see him recognized as the supremely talented man he is.
