George Michael released his first solo single, “Careless Whisper,” on July 23, 1984, in the UK. Today is the 40th anniversary of the release date for “Careless Whisper.”

Amazon UK is listing a CD of “Careless Whisper” as well as a Vinyl for preorder. According to the description:

George Michael’s ‘Careless Whisper’ is one of the most iconic songs of all time and 2024 celebrates its 40th anniversary. Hailed as a pop masterpiece, it topped the charts in 25 countries when it was released in 1984. The track has since been certified multiple times Platinum around the world.
